YA HABIB, YA SALEEB, YA GHAREEB,
YA HUSSAYN
O Hussayn (a.s.), O the light of Mohammad’s (s.a.w.) eyes,
O the beloved son of Fatima (s.a.),
O Hussayn (a.s.), O he who was isolated and driven so far away from home
O Hussayn (a.s.), O he who was ravaged, whose clothes were ripped from
his body after his martyrdom
O Hussayn (a.s.), O he on whose grave, even today, Allah (swt) and his
angels send salaams
Even today, Hussayn’s cry, after his martyrdom, lives on,
Karbala is crying out, O Hussayn, O the son of Ali (a.s.), O Fatima’s
(a.s.) heart, O Hassan’s (a.s.) support, O Abbas’s (a.s.)
brother, O Zainab’s (s.a.) hope,
Accept the salaams of your azadaar, accept our salaams, accept our salaams
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
O Karbala, accept my salaam
My salaam to you each time the sun rises
For the martyrs for whom the skies wept blood
For whom Gibraeel shed tears
Take my Imam, from me my salaam
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
O Karbala, accept salaams from us all
Shabbir (a.s.) lies asleep in your embrace
Your earth is filled with the blood of the Holy Martyrs
The earth upon which Seyyeda Zainab (s.a.) walked
This is the cry, of Karbala
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
Noah cried for Hussayn (a.s.) with sorrow and grief
Adam could not bear Hussayn’s (a.s.) suffering and sadness
Ibrahim gave condolences to Hussayn (a.s.) for his sacrifices
Should we also not weep and cry on the slaughter of our Maula Hussayn
Bursting with tears, My ribs broken with sobbing
Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
Prophet Adam (a.s.) cried over your sad plight
And Prophet Nuh (a.s.) also sheds tears for you
And Prophet Ebrahim (a.s.) in Makkah
Is crying for Ali Akbar (a.s.)
All the Prophets, filled with tears
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
O Karbala your memory will always remain in my heart
Your dignity will always be upheld and protected by Allah
Those who have affection for you, may no harm befall them
Whoever follows Hussayn, may he never forget you
Always the call from Karbala
Will never fade, Oh the dispossessed, Oh the forlorn, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
Imam Al Asr (a.t.f.s) cries for you every day
Tears washing his face as he sits on the prayer mat

.................................................
Oh Hussayn (a.s.) Your body lying on a bed of arrows
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
I will cry the name of Hussayn (a.s.), until I die, Oh Hussayn
Oh the beloved, Oh the ravaged, Oh the isolated, Oh Hussayn
Accept our salaams, Accept our salaams, Accept our salaams
